That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Lanhydrock is a National Trust estate near Bodmin with a Victorian country house, formal gardens, parkland and woodland spread across a substantial day-out site. The house and main shop are assistance dogs only, but there's plenty of outdoor and café ground to cover with a dog in tow.

The estate is large enough for a half-day or longer visit, with enough sniff-worthy parkland and garden paths to keep noses busy and legs stretched. The café welcome means you can stop for lunch or a tea break without splitting up the group and the bookshop access adds a useful browsing option when the weather turns.

Parking is pay-and-display on site, free for National Trust members with a ticket displayed. The combination of outdoor space, café access and bookshop makes it easier to plan a full day without the usual juggling of who waits where and there's enough variety to keep both humans and dogs entertained.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome in the gardens (except the Herbaceous Circle), parkland, wider countryside, courtyard, cafés and second-hand bookshop. The house and main shop are assistance dogs only and leads are needed near livestock.
