That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Lappa Valley is one of those rare days out that genuinely works for both humans and dogs, without any awkward compromises. Set in a hidden valley near Newquay, it starts with a nostalgic little train ride that carries you into a full, self-contained world of lakes, woodland walks, play areas and slow, easy exploring.

Once you’re in, it opens out into a mix of gentle paths, open space and activity spots, with boat rides, mini railways and places to stop, sit and reset along the way. It’s the kind of place where the day naturally stretches without needing a plan, especially if you’re balancing fresh air with a bit of “let’s just sit for a minute” energy.

For dogs, it’s unusually well thought through. They’re welcome across most of the site, including the trains and café, with water bowls, treats and even a dedicated exercise field where they can properly let off steam.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome across Lappa Valley, including on the trains and inside the café, making it a rare fully dog-friendly day out. Keep dogs on leads in most areas, with a dedicated field available for off-lead time and plenty of water, treats and space to roam.
