Lavenham Guildhall is a stunning medieval timber-framed building in the heart of Lavenham, run by the National Trust and easily reached from Bury St Edmunds. Inside, the museum tells the story of the guildhall's wool-trade past and the village's Tudor heyday, but ordinary pet dogs can join you in the garden and the tea-room, making it a proper cultural outing for the whole group. Dogs on short leads are welcome in the peaceful walled garden and inside the tea-room, where you can settle in for a cup of tea and a cake while your dog supervises from underfoot.
The museum galleries themselves are open to assistance dogs only, so if you're planning to explore the exhibitions in depth, expect to take turns or bring a second human. Lavenham Guildhall is open daily from 10:00 to 15:30, with the tea-room opening slightly earlier.
There's free village parking nearby, plus some on-street spaces and public car parks within walking distance. It's a compact, manageable visit and combines perfectly with a wander through Lavenham's famously wonky streets.
