That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Lazix is one of those tucked-away Canterbury finds that people feel slightly smug about discovering. Just off the cobbled lanes near the Cathedral, it's a cosy, family-run coffee house and bistro where dogs are welcome inside. The menu leans brunchy and indulgent, from properly brewed coffee to an all-day brunch lineup, cakes, pastries, waffles and crêpes, with wine, cocktails and loose-leaf teas rounding things out.
Inside, it has that warm, layered feel with different seating spaces and even an outdoor terrace, giving you options depending on whether you want a quick stop or a longer linger. It's busy in a good way, the kind of place where the hum of conversation and clinking cups makes it feel alive without tipping into chaos.
Dogs can join you while you settle in, likely clocking every plate that passes like it's part of their official duties. It quietly covers a lot of ground, from a simple coffee stop to a full sit-down with something sweet or savoury, and nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside, so they can settle in while you work through the menu. Leads on, and a quick paw-wipe if the cobbles have done their muddy worst.
