Tucked beneath street level in the heart of the city, it comes across as warm, welcoming and a little more characterful than a standard chain-style pub stop. The mix of deli boards, drinks and old-cellar surroundings makes it a good option when you want somewhere that feels slightly tucked away from the bustle, while still being right in the middle of York.
