That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway near Ludborough is the kind of day out where the dog realises very quickly… this is not a normal walk. There's steam in the air, whistles in the distance, and a whole lot of new smells rolling in with every carriage.
This heritage railway brings a slice of old-school travel back to life, with restored steam and diesel trains running through the Lincolnshire countryside. You can hop on for a round trip (about 40 minutes) or make a full day of it with unlimited rides, engine shed tours, and time to wander the station and watch the locomotives up close.
It's relaxed, friendly, and a bit nostalgic in the best way. There's a café set inside a railway carriage, picnic spots for slower moments, and plenty of space around the station for a leg stretch between rides. Not just something to "do" — more something to experience together, at a slightly different pace.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome on the railway, including in designated dog-friendly carriages and areas of the café. Water and treats are often available, and there's space to stretch legs around the station. Please keep paws off the seats, and check ahead for special events—some dining or Halloween trains may not be dog-friendly.
