Llanerchaeron

Llanerchaeron is a National Trust estate near Aberystwyth where dogs on leads are welcome across walled gardens, pleasure grounds, farmyard, woodland trails and around the lake. The house itself is off-limits to ordinary dogs, but your four-legged companion can join you in the visitor centre and café, as well as exploring the parkland and car park. It's a generous day out for dog owners who want heritage, green space and a proper wander all in one spot.

Keep leads short because livestock graze on site, especially in the parkland areas. The estate opens Monday to Friday 10am to 4.30pm and weekends 11am to 3pm. On-site parking costs £3 a day for non-members from March to October and it's free from November to February; there's also a free short-stay period if you're just popping into the welcome centre, bookshop, toilets or café.

Woodland trails run dawn to dusk for those who arrive early or late, making this a flexible choice for dog walkers who like mixing formal gardens with proper countryside. The walled gardens and farmyard offer plenty of sniff-worthy stops and the lake adds a scenic loop for lead walks.
