Llangollen Wharf

Llangollen Wharf is a canal-side attraction on Wharf Hill offering horse-drawn boat trips and self-drive day boats through the heritage waterways around Llangollen. Dogs are welcome on the horse-drawn trips and on the self-drive hire boats, making it a brilliant way to see the canal from the water with your dog alongside you. The motorised aqueduct cruise does not allow dogs, so check which trip you're booking if you want to bring them along.

All boat trips can be booked online and advance booking is recommended, especially during busy periods. The wharf is open daily from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm and it's a five-minute walk from the town centre car parks—there's a pickup and drop-off point at the wharf itself but no dedicated visitor parking on site.

It's an easy add-on to a Llangollen day out and the canal setting makes for a proper outing rather than just a quick stop. The horse-drawn trips offer commentary and a relaxed pace, while the self-drive boats give you freedom to explore at your own speed with your dog as first mate.
