Loaf

Loaf is a central bakehouse and café on Market Street in Wells, serving all-day coffee, brunch and evening dining in a welcoming indoor setting. Dogs are welcome inside on the lead, so the whole group can settle in together whether you're stopping for morning pastries, a leisurely brunch or dinner from the reservation menu. The kitchen runs brunch service from 9am until 2pm daily, with evening restaurant sittings available by booking.

Coffee, cake and counter treats are served throughout the day. Dog treats are mentioned by regulars, though it's always worth asking at the counter.

Open Monday to Saturday from 8.30am to 5pm and Sunday until 3pm, Loaf makes a useful pitstop after a walk around the Wells town centre or before exploring the cathedral quarter. The café also has a courtyard, adding flexible seating when the weather plays along.
