That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Lollipop Train in Cleethorpes is one of those seaside traditions that quietly becomes part of the day without much discussion. The dog watches it roll past once… twice… and suddenly you're both on board. Running along the promenade, this cheerful little road train links key spots like the pier, boating lake, and leisure centre, making it an easy, slightly nostalgic way to explore without wearing your legs out.
It trundles along at its own pace, giving you time to take in the sea views, people-watch, and enjoy the simple novelty of it all. Dogs are welcome on board too, and even better, they ride for free. When treats are available, four-legged passengers may even get a little bonus for being extremely brave and scenic.
It's especially popular with families, but honestly, it's just as good as a "why not?" moment mid-walk. A sit-down, a reset, and a slightly different way to do the seafront before hopping back off and carrying on. It's a lovely touch that makes the whole thing feel properly dog-friendly rather than just "yes, fine, bring them."
