The Lost Gardens of Heligan is a major heritage estate attraction near Truro and dogs are welcome to explore the gardens all year round on a short, non-extendable lead. The site covers extensive visitor routes across the estate grounds and dogs on leads are also welcome inside Heligan Kitchen and The Steward's House, so everyone can stay together for food stops without the usual pavement-waiting shuffle. It is a full day-out destination with ticketed entry, a site map, plenty of paths to follow and food stops dotted across the estate.
On-site parking is available, though the official guidance notes that shaded parking is not offered and dogs should not be left in vehicles.
Dogs must stay on a short, non-extendable lead at all times and should be kept away from rare livestock and poultry around the estate. It is a useful Truro-area attraction for dog owners who want a proper day out with relaxed browsing, muddy-paw reality fully expected and a place where the dog does not have to wait outside while you grab lunch.
