Days Out Are For Dogs Too

Ludlow Castle is a high-profile medieval castle in the centre of Ludlow, open to visitors daily throughout most of the year with seasonal hours and a winter weekend-only period. Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside the castle ruins and on the café terrace, kept on a lead at all times, making this one of the most accessible historic attractions in Shropshire for dog owners.
The castle sits right in the heart of Ludlow, so you're a minute's walk from the nearest public car park and the town's independent shops and dog-friendly cafés. It's open daily from 10am to 5pm between April and late October, with shorter hours and more limited access through winter and early spring and closes on Christmas Day.
Dogs can explore the Great Hall, towers and curtain walls alongside you, all on lead and join you on the outdoor café terrace. There's no on-site parking, but the walk from the town-centre car parks is short and straightforward and the dog-friendly access makes this a proper day-out destination rather than a walk-past.
