Lytes Cary Manor is a National Trust Tudor manor house and estate near Somerton, about twelve miles from Wells. Dogs are welcome on the wider estate and the tea-room courtyard, where the outdoor seating gives you somewhere to pause with a drink and a snack after exploring. The estate walks let your dog enjoy proper roaming time and there's on-site parking to make the visit straightforward.

The formal Arts and Crafts garden, the manor house and the indoor tea-room are reserved for assistance dogs only, so this is a day out where the estate paths and courtyard form the main dog-friendly circuit. The manor itself is compact and beautiful and the chapel and second-hand bookshop add interest for the humans in your group.

Lytes Cary is open daily from 10am to 4pm, with manor house and garden hours extending slightly later on some days. The estate walks are open throughout, so you can plan a loop that keeps the dog happy and still enjoy the historic buildings and garden layout from the outside.
