Margam Country Park Dog Wash Station is a public self-service facility in the grounds of the large country park, seven miles from Porthcawl. It's designed for post-walk clean-ups, offering warm water and a two-speed dryer to tackle mud, sand and wet coats before the journey home.

No booking is required; you simply turn up and use it as needed. The station is marked on the park map and sits within a destination that offers plenty of dog-walking routes, so it's a practical stop if your dog has made the most of the parkland.

Park entry is free, though car park charges apply. The facility gives you a chance to rinse off the evidence of a good walk without improvising at home and the warm water and adjustable dryer make the job less of a wrestle.
