Masovia Craft Bakery sits at the top of Wyle Cop in Shrewsbury, an artisan Polish bakery filled with fresh breads, pastries, cakes and the kind of baked-goods temptation that makes sensible decision-making noticeably harder. Dogs are welcome inside, which means everyone can browse together without the pavement-waiting shuffle.

It has a family-run feel and brings something a little different to the Shrewsbury food scene, which gives it extra appeal if you like finding places that feel distinctive rather than interchangeable. It works brilliantly as a coffee-and-pastry stop, but it is also the sort of place where the counter can derail all original plans in the best possible way.
