Melford Hall

Melford Hall is a National Trust Tudor mansion set in parkland about 14 miles from Bury St Edmunds, with dog-friendly tea-room areas, a bookshop and open grounds to explore together. Dogs are welcome on leads in the park, in the bookshop and at outdoor tea-room seating in the garden, plus there's a designated indoor tea-room seating space where you can keep them with you.

The historic house itself and the formal garden are restricted to assistance dogs only, but the parkland gives you plenty of space for a potter and a sniff break and the tea-room setup means you're not stuck outside when you want a sit-down and a cake. Open Monday and Wednesday to Sunday from noon to 4:30 pm, closed Tuesdays.

Groups need to book in advance and general admission tickets are required for non-members. There's an official car park on site, with Blue Badge parking and drop-off available.
