Monsal Trail is one of the Peak District’s easiest crowd-pleasers, giving you a long, traffic-free route through limestone dales with tunnels, viaducts and big views that keep the walk interesting without needing a full expedition mindset. The trail is used by walkers, runners, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users, and follows a former railway line, which gives it that rare mix of drama and ease.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome along the full trail, with a traffic-free route ideal for longer walks. Keep dogs under control around cyclists and other users.
