Montefiore Arms is an old-fashioned backstreet pub in the best sense, with a long local history and the sort of traditional pub details that make it feel properly lived in. Official descriptions highlight its mahogany bar, games room, bar billiards and darts, plus a long-running place in the CAMRA guide, all of which point to a venue that takes its pub identity seriously. It sounds warm, characterful and more about conversation and good beer than trend-chasing. A very good choice for visitors who want to sidestep the obvious waterfront stops and find somewhere with deeper Ramsgate pub roots.
