Morrab Gardens is a free subtropical public garden in the centre of Penzance, open every day from dawn to dusk and well within day-trip range of St Ives. Well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout on a short lead, making it a calm and manageable stop for anyone travelling with a four-legged companion.

The gardens are genuinely subtropical — designed for slow browsing rather than ball-throwing — with serpentine paths winding through exotic planting that has been building since the 1880s. No extendable leads are allowed and you'll need to pick up after your dog. Entry is free, and there's no booking required.

Morrab Gardens works well as a short pause on a longer Penzance day or paired with another stop nearby. There's no on-site parking, but several public car parks serve the town centre and Wherrytown Car Park is within a pleasant walk of the gardens.

Dog Policy:

Well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout Morrab Gardens on a short lead — extendable leads stay at home, and the usual pick-up rules apply. A calm sniff through subtropical planting beats the car park every time.
