Mortimer Forest

Mortimer Forest is a large Forestry England woodland on the edge of Ludlow, open all year and free to visit with your dog. Dogs are welcome across the forest, with trails ranging from short loops to longer ridge walks and plenty of space for a proper sniff-led ramble. There are car parks dotted around the site with no parking charges, making it easy to park up and head straight onto the paths.

Forestry England confirms dogs are allowed throughout the forest and asks that you keep them under control. It's the kind of place where lead-and-bag logistics are simple and the forest does most of the entertainment work for you. Picnic areas are available if you want to settle in for a bit longer between walks.
