Mottisfont

Mottisfont is a National Trust house, gallery and riverside estate just outside Romsey, within easy reach of Winchester for a proper day out with your dog. The gardens, woodland paths and wider estate welcome dogs on short leads and you can bring them inside the shop and the dog-friendly indoor café area in the Stables too. The house and art gallery are assistance dogs only, along with the walled gardens and formal lawns immediately around the building, but there's still plenty to explore together across the parkland and along the Test.

Free parking is in the visitor car park next to the welcome centre, so you can skip the village roadside shuffle. The gardens open daily from 10:00 until 17:00, with the house and gallery opening at 11:00.

The café runs from 10:00 to 16:45, so there's time for a proper break before you head home. It's a generous estate visit when you want more than a quick walk.
