Mount Stewart

Mount Stewart is a major National Trust estate near Bangor, Northern Ireland, where dogs on leads are welcome across the gardens, woodland trails and demesne grounds. There's also a dedicated off-lead exercise area next to the Shepherd's Hut, so your dog can stretch their legs properly after a morning exploring the formal gardens and lakeside paths.

The estate includes a courtyard, shop and covered outdoor area at the tea-room where dogs are welcome, giving you somewhere to sit with your dog after a wander. The historic house itself is assistance-dogs-only, but the real draw here is the outdoor space: sweeping gardens, woodland walks and a straightforward indoor welcome for a proper sniff-filled day out.

Mount Stewart is open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with two hard-standing car parks on site and overflow field parking available on busy days. It's a brilliant choice when you want a full estate visit with your dog, not just a quick loop.
