Munlochy Clootie Well is a short heritage woodland walk on the Black Isle, north-east of Inverness. Managed by Forestry and Land Scotland, the site centres on an ancient well where visitors tie strips of cloth to the surrounding trees as part of a centuries-old folk tradition. A short trail leads through the woods to the well itself, making it a distinctive quick stop for families and dog owners exploring the area.

Dogs are welcome on the outdoor trail and around the clootie well area under FLS woodland guidance. Keep your dog under control or on a lead where appropriate, particularly near other visitors and the well itself. It's a compact visit rather than a long hike, so lead logistics stay simple.

Parking is provided at the dedicated Clootie Well car park, with a second Littleburn car park nearby. The site is open access with no fixed hours or admission charge. It's a quirky cultural pause on a Black Isle day out and the dog can join you for the whole thing.
