The Museum of the Broads in Stalham is a rare find for dog owners: a proper museum where your dog is welcome inside on a lead. Housed in a collection of display buildings along the riverside, it tells the story of the Norfolk Broads through indoor exhibitions, outdoor displays and the chance to board a working boat.
The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm, closed Mondays. Dogs can explore the museum buildings and the outside display area on a lead, giving you both a genuinely interesting day out rather than one of you waiting in the car.
If you're planning a boat trip on the Marsh Harrier, dogs may be allowed on board at the helm's discretion, so it's worth checking ahead if that's part of your visit. It's a proper riverside attraction rather than a quick browse and the fact that your dog can join you for all of it makes it an easy choice when you're exploring the Broads and want to do something beyond another walk.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Free treats available
Doggy menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside the museum and in the outside display area on a lead. Boat trips on the Marsh Harrier allow dogs at the helm's discretion.
