National Trust - Trerice is an Elizabethan manor house near Newquay, set in gardens made for slow wandering and gentle exploring. It's a brilliant "something different" day out if you want history, fine interiors and space to roam without rushing. Dogs are welcome in the gardens, the Visitor Welcome area, the Hayloft and the secondhand bookshop, though not inside the main house itself.

The café allows dogs to accompany visitors while ordering, with plenty of outdoor seating available for settling in with a coffee and a hopeful nose. The potager (a food-growing area) and Mowhay Field (reserved for wildlife and children's play) are off-limits to paws, but the gardens offer calm, storybook energy and room to explore at a gentle pace.

It's a quieter kind of National Trust adventure, suited to families and anyone who likes museum-level etiquette outdoors and proper manor-house atmosphere without the usual "everyone stays outside" shuffle. Keep dogs on the lead, respect other visitors, and pick up after your dog so the lawns and gardens stay lovely for everyone.

Good to know:

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome in the gardens, Visitor Welcome, the Hayloft and the secondhand bookshop, but not inside the main house, shop, potager or Mowhay Field. In the café, dogs can join you while ordering, then it's outdoor seating for the sit-down part—plenty of space for paws and people.
