That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

An Elizabethan manor house with proper storybook energy, plus gardens that are made for slow wandering and gentle exploring. It’s a brilliant “something different” day out near Newquay, especially if you want history, interiors, and space to roam without rushing. Expect fine details inside, a delightful garden outside, and a calm pace that suits families and anyone who likes a quieter kind of adventure. Dogs are welcome inside, which makes it extra handy for dog-owning day trippers. Keep the etiquette museum-level: quiet paws, no jumping up at displays, and no enthusiastic “I found a smell!” moments in the gift areas. Outdoors, be a good human: keep your dog close, respect other visitors, and pick up after your dog so the lawns and gardens stay lovely.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome to explore most areas of the property, but not the house, shop, potager or Mowhay Field. The potager is a food-growing area, and Mowhay Field is reserved for wildlife and children’s play. Dogs are welcome in the garden, Visitor Welcome, the Hayloft and the secondhand bookshop. In the café, dogs can accompany visitors while ordering only, with plenty of outdoor seating available.
