The National Waterways Museum at Gloucester sits inside the historic Llanthony Warehouse at Gloucester Docks and tells the story of the docks and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. It's a journey through 200 years of dockside history, rooted in the working life of this once-busy waterfront.

Dogs are welcome inside both the museum and the coffee shop, making it a strong indoor-friendly choice for a Gloucester day out with a dog. Water bowls, free treats and doggy ice cream are all available, so hopeful noses will be well looked after. The on-site café and gift shop, plus events and activities, help turn a visit into more than a quick look round.

It's a lovely option if you want local heritage, dockside atmosphere and somewhere the dog can come along rather than waiting out the adventure. Dogs on leads can explore the museum alongside their humans, keeping everyone together for the whole visit.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside the museum and coffee shop, so nobody needs to do the pavement shuffle while someone else explores the docks history.
