That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Nelson Head in Horsey is a proper old-school country pub with that instantly-cosy feel, right where the Norfolk coast and Broads energy collide. Expect hearty, home-cooked pub food, a good range of ales and ciders, and the sort of welcoming atmosphere that makes damp coats feel like part of the décor. It’s a brilliant “reward pub” after a Horsey Gap seal mission or a broad-side wander, with a roaring fire when it’s chilly and a garden for the rare days when Norfolk decides to show off.
Locals, walkers and visitors all seem to funnel in here for generous portions and friendly service, which is exactly the vibe you want when your dog is doing that proud post-walk strut.

Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside. Your dog may conduct a full “health and safety inspection” of every chair, bag and shoelace, then settle like they pay rent.
