Nene Valley Railway at Wansford Station is a heritage steam and diesel railway offering dog-friendly travel on standard services between its station stops near Stamford. Dogs are welcome aboard the trains, kept on a lead and off the carriage seats, making it a proper day out where your dog can join you for the ride rather than wait at home. Standard running days vary by season and advance booking is recommended, though walk-in tickets are often available.

A small dog fare applies. Food services and some special event trains, including seasonal Santa services, exclude dogs, so check before you book if your visit coincides with a gala or dining event.

The railway is open Monday to Sunday, 9am to 4.30pm, with journeys departing throughout the day when services are running. It's the kind of outing where lead logistics are simple, the scenery rolls past the window and your dog gets to be part of the adventure rather than left behind.
