No 5 Angel Hill is a dog-friendly café and wine house in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, right on the handsome square that leads to the Abbey Gardens and cathedral. Dogs are welcome inside for coffee, cakes and a proper pause, making it a brilliant stop when you're touring the town centre with your four-footer in tow. The café serves drinks and light bites daily from 9am to 4pm and the Angel Hill setting means you're steps from the Abbey Gardens entrance and plenty of town-centre wandering.

It's the sort of place where both ends of the lead can settle in without fuss.

No dog menu or treats are confirmed, but the real draw is the central location and the fact that your dog can stay by your side while you refuel. A reliably useful Angel Hill pit stop.
