Northern Edge Coffee is a family-run speciality coffee roastery and coffee house in historic Berwick upon Tweed that takes freshness seriously. Coffee is roasted on site and dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while you grab your flat white. The coffee house sits close to the medieval town walls which makes it an easy stop while exploring.
Alongside drinks you will usually find local eats and daytime food options plus traybakes for the one-more-bite crowd. If you time it right you can even spot roasting in action from the seating area which adds a little theatre to your visit. Check opening times if you are visiting early or late in the day.
It is a strong pick if coffee quality is non-negotiable and it also works if you just want a warm place to regroup mid-adventure with a hopeful nose at your feet.
