Dogs on leads are welcome across the park and inside the visitor centre and café too, which means no doorway negotiations while you grab a drink or use the facilities. It is managed by Northumberland Wildlife Trust and open year-round, making it a handy option when you need a proper outdoor destination with indoor backup. The landform sculpture itself is unique and the network of paths gives plenty of scope for a long on-lead wander without repeating loops or navigating awkward road crossings.

There is ample parking on site with a suggested £2 donation per person and the visitor centre offers a welcome breather when the weather turns theatrical. Dogs can settle under the table while you sit down with a coffee.

The on-lead rule keeps things calm and the fact that dogs can follow you into the café and visitor centre removes the usual will they let us in guesswork. It works well for muddy-paw days, longer walks and keeping everyone together.
