The Oddfellows Arms sits on Main Street in Keswick town centre, well placed for a pause between browsing the shops and deciding whether those clouds mean business. It’s a proper pub stop for a post-fell pint, a leisurely lunch or an early evening meal, with real ales, beers, wines and soft drinks on offer.

It opens seven days a week — midday to midnight most days, with 11am starts on Thursdays and Saturdays. Food is served daily from noon until 8pm, giving hungry walkers plenty of time to get down from the hills and find a table.

Dogs are welcome throughout the whole pub, so there’s no splitting up the group or negotiating who gets the outside seat. Water bowls and a watering station take care of thirsty arrivals, while a small dog treats menu offers something to buy for anyone whose dog considers a fell walk worthy of a reward. The team also loves taking photos of visiting dogs for the pub’s social media — a small taste of Keswick fame.
