Olive's is a relaxed café on Elm Hill in the heart of Norwich, serving breakfast, brunch and lunch in a cobbled medieval setting that still feels utterly modern. Dogs are welcome inside, so you can settle in with your pup by your table while you order a flat white and something from the seasonal menu.

It's the kind of spot where the scrambled eggs arrive beautifully plated, the coffee is excellent and no one minds a lead looped around a chair leg. The café opens early on Saturdays and Sundays, making it an ideal pitstop before a cathedral-quarter wander or when you need a proper sit-down breakfast after the morning walk.

Elm Hill is central, photogenic and easily reached on foot from most of the city. Dogs stay close to your table and the relaxed pace suits a post-sniff-stop refuel perfectly.
