That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

The Oyster Bed is a large roadside pub on the edge of Whitstable, serving food daily and pouring drinks from 11:30am through to 11pm. Dogs are welcome inside the bar and in the beer garden, so the whole group can settle in together whether you're stopping for a quick pint or a proper meal.

The kitchen runs seven days a week, with food available until 9pm most evenings and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It's a handy pit-stop for dog walkers coming off Thanet Way or crossing the outer edge of town, with easy roadside parking and the kind of long opening hours that make spontaneous visits possible.

Free dog treats are on offer and the cosy indoor space means nobody has to volunteer for pavement duty when the weather turns. The Oyster Bed balances gastropub dining with a relaxed bar atmosphere, so whether your dog's supervising lunch from under the table or just eyeing up everyone else's chips, they're welcome to join you inside.
