Open from Easter to October, Rest A While Tea Garden is one of those hidden little Cornwall finds that instantly slows the pace of the day down. Tucked just off the South West Coast Path at Hawkers Cove near Padstow, this seasonal tea garden sits behind the old coastguard cottages with sweeping views across the Camel Estuary towards Rock and Daymer Bay.

Famous for homemade cream teas, cakes and relaxed coastal atmosphere, it feels less like a standard café stop and more like discovering a secret garden overlooking the sea. Dogs are warmly welcomed too, with fresh water and biscuits available for well-behaved four-legged visitors, making it a brilliant stop during coast path walks or beach days around Hawkers Cove.

The whole place leans into slower Cornwall energy. You grab a table outside, sea air rolling in around you, dogs settling under benches after a long wander while humans debate whether cream tea counts as lunch. In this setting, honestly… it probably does.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are warmly welcomed at Rest A While Tea Garden with fresh water and biscuits waiting for well-behaved four-legged visitors. After a coast path wander or beach run at Hawkers Cove, it’s the sort of place where dogs collapse happily under the table while humans enter serious cream tea territory.
