That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Pegasus Tap Room is one of those tucked-away Canterbury spots that feels like a bit of a find. Set along St Dunstan's Street, it leans fully into craft drinks culture, with 14 rotating taps of beer, a huge selection of spirits (especially gin), and a relaxed, slightly moody atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in for "just one"… and stay longer. Dogs are welcome inside at quieter times, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle.
Inside, it's cosy and characterful, more of a low-lit bolthole than a big, noisy bar. The focus is firmly on the drinks, with constantly changing beers from local and international brewers, plus over 100 gins and a strong wine and cocktail offering. It's the kind of place where the staff know their stuff, and you end up trying something you wouldn't normally order.
There's no pressure to rush either, it's built for lingering, chatting, and easing into the evening, whether you're starting a night out or just calling in for a quieter drink. Dogs can settle in during the day while you work your way through the taps, making it a useful wet-weather stop when paws and people both need somewhere cosy to land.
Good to know:
Water bowls available
Treats available
Doggy Menu available
Dog Policy:
Dogs are welcome inside during the day when it's quieter, so they can settle in while you work through the taps. Leads on, and it gets too noisy for paws in the evenings.
