That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Pendennis Castle is a historic coastal fortress near Falmouth, a short drive from Truro and all dogs on a lead are welcome inside the buildings as well as around the grounds. It makes planning a day out much calmer when everyone can stay together.

The castle offers exhibitions, guided talks, family activities and coastal views, plus there is outside seating at the cafe where dogs can join you. Free parking is listed on Castle Drive, a short walk from the entrance and advance booking is available online.

This is a full visitor day out rather than a quick stop, so you can build it into a longer trip without the usual tangled-lead negotiations at the door. Dogs must stay on a lead throughout, which is fair given the castle layout and visitor numbers, but the key thing is they are genuinely welcome in the indoor spaces.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

All dogs on a lead are welcome inside the buildings and around the grounds, which keeps everyone together and saves the pavement-waiting shuffle. There is outside seating at the cafe too.
