Pensthorpe is a 700-acre nature reserve and visitor destination just outside Cromer, complete with gardens, sculpture trail, outdoor play areas and on-site café and shop. It's the sort of place families head for a full day out, though dog owners should know that access for ordinary pet dogs is limited to selected areas only. Dogs on leads are welcome in the courtyard outside seating area, the café function room, the picnic area near the entrance and the shop.
They cannot enter the nature reserve, the gardens or the adventure play areas—those zones are restricted to assistance dogs only. If your day revolves around keeping everyone together and your dog is happy with courtyard sniffs and a picnic pause, Pensthorpe still works as a destination stop.
It's a ticketed attraction with parking and visitor facilities on site, so plan ahead if you're visiting during school holidays or busy weekends. The café function room and outdoor courtyard mean you can grab a drink without leaving your dog behind, even if the main reserve remains off-limits.
