Welcome to Pickles. (Formerly Chester Beer & Wine)

We are an independent wine bar, taproom and bottle shop in the heart of the beautiful Chester suburb of Handbridge. Being independent means we can offer specialist handpicked wines, beers and spirits from all over the world which are superb quality, but won’t break the bank. Our staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgable, but one thing we are not is pretentious! Grabbing a bottle to take home, or taking your time over a cheeky G&T to people watch out of a window table in the bar? We’ve got you….

We also offer other services to complement our customer experience. If you aren’t able to make it to the shop in person, just relax at home and order online instead for free local delivery! Are you having a party and just can’t seem to lay your hands on 100 flutes? Don’t panic, we offer a glass hire service (and you don’t even have to wash them afterwards!!)

As if that wasn’t enough, we host some pretty amazing events in our upstairs spaces - from wine tastings to painting experiences, psychic nights to private hire (including fundraising events). If you’re looking for some fabulous entertainment or a unique space for a special celebration, why not give us a call?
