Poole’s Cavern feels like one of those places where the Peak District suddenly switches from pretty to dramatic, with limestone formations, underground atmosphere and a strong sense of ancient geology doing the heavy lifting. It is described by Buxton Civic Association as one of the finest caves in Derbyshire and pairs the cavern visit with a visitor centre, café and shop above ground.
