Poole's Cavern & Buxton Country Park is a show cave and country park in Buxton, open daily from 09:45 to 17:00. Dogs are welcome throughout, including on the cavern tour itself, making this a rare chance to explore one of the Peak District's finest limestone caves without leaving your dog behind. The site also features a visitor centre, shop and café, plus over 100 acres of managed country parkland with woodland paths and viewpoints.

Your dog must stay on a short lead for the entire visit, both underground and across the park. The cave tour involves steps and uneven surfaces, so consider your dog's temperament and fitness before heading down. Most dogs manage it calmly and the cool, quiet atmosphere suits steady walkers well.

The country park above offers gentler exploring, with trails threading through ancient woodland and open hillside. It's a proper half-day destination for dog owners who want indoor and outdoor variety in one ticket and the short-lead rule keeps everyone safe on the narrower cave sections and busier park paths.
