Porcelain Coffee is a small, friendly coffee shop on Old Elvet in the centre of Durham, serving speciality coffee, cakes and light food. Dogs are welcome inside, so you can settle in together at the table without leaving anyone outside in the rain.

The café is compact and relaxed, with a bowl by the door for thirsty dogs and a warm welcome from staff who understand that some of us plan our coffee stops around four legs and a lead. It's open Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, 8:30am to 5pm and closed on Tuesdays.

Porcelain sits neatly between the bridge and the cathedral area, making it a handy mid-walk stop for anyone navigating the Old Elvet end of town. Whether you're rewarding a morning circuit or breaking up a longer Durham day, it's the sort of place that fits easily around dog schedules and caffeine needs alike.
