Set high above Padstow Harbour, Prideaux Place is one of those places that instantly makes a day out feel bigger somehow. This historic Elizabethan manor house has overlooked the Camel Estuary for more than 400 years, surrounded by deer park views, sweeping grounds and the kind of scenery that seems designed specifically for slower wandering with a dog beside you.
Dogs are welcome in the grounds on leads, making it a brilliant addition to a dog-friendly Padstow itinerary when you want something beyond beaches and harbour streets. The atmosphere feels peaceful and spacious, with woodland paths, gardens and open views creating plenty of opportunities for a relaxed explore before settling down for coffee or cake in the tea room garden.
There’s also a lovely sense of old Cornwall woven through the whole place. Between the historic architecture, ancient deer park and tucked-away corners of the estate, it feels less like a quick attraction stop and more like stepping into a quieter version of Padstow for an hour or two. A genuinely useful dog-friendly day out in Cornwall where dogs are properly included in the experience.
