That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

Set within the grounds of Thornbridge Hall Estate, Quackers Café has mastered the art of the “we’ll just stop for a coffee” visit quietly evolving into half a day. Between the gardens, estate walks, house tours and riverside wandering, it becomes the natural refuel point where everyone, dogs included, finally exhales a bit.

Inside, there’s that warm, busy-but-relaxed café energy that suits muddy boots, tired legs and people trying to decide between cake and “something savoury first”. Outside, dogs settle beside tables while keeping one eye on the ducks, the gardens or passing walkers from the Monsal Trail. The whole place feels built around stretching the day out rather than rushing it along.

Dogs are genuinely woven into the experience too, not treated like an afterthought. They’re welcome throughout the estate on a lead, including the café, gardens and even the house tours, which completely changes the rhythm of the visit because nobody has to split up or wait outside. It turns Thornbridge into the sort of proper all-together day out dog owners are always hoping to find. 🐾
