The Red Lion is a busy pub on Northgate Street in Chester, right in the thick of the city centre and handy for the Town Hall and central wandering. Dogs are welcome inside and food is served throughout the pub, so the whole group can settle in for a proper pint without splitting up.

The menu runs alongside sport on the screens and the all-day opening hours mean you can drop in mid-morning or stretch into the evening. It's a straightforward, dependable stop when you need somewhere dog-friendly that won't fuss over leads or ask you to wait outside.

Open from 11am most days, 10am at weekends and running late on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Northgate Street is central, so on-street parking is the usual city-centre drill, but you're well placed for exploring Chester on foot once you've parked up.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Free treats available

Doggy menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside the pub and food is served throughout, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle. Usual pub supervision applies.
