The Red Lion is a dog-friendly pub in Mawnan Smith, around 4 miles from Falmouth, with dogs welcome inside. It is a handy stop for dog owners exploring the Helford side of the area, especially around Trebah Garden, Glendurgan, Maenporth, Helford Passage and nearby coast-path walking.

This is a traditional thatched, family-run pub serving meals, drinks and real ales, with indoor seating around a central bar and a log fire in colder weather. It works well when a walk has gone slightly muddier than planned and an indoor table suddenly feels less like a luxury and more like survival.

Practical dog details are strong here: water bowls are available, treats are kept on the bar, and dogs should be on a suitable lead and responsibly supervised. There is also a small car park, useful for visitors arriving after garden trips, coastal walks or a Helford-side wander.
