Ripley Castle is a historic estate near Harrogate offering gardens, grounds and courtyard areas where well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. The castle interior, deer park and showfield are off-limits, but the gardens and accessible grounds give plenty of space for a proper look around with your dog at your side. Estate outlets including Grindhus Coffee and the Castle Tearoom welcome dogs, so you can settle in for a drink or bite without heading back to the car.
The castle courtyard also opens for monthly market days, where dogs on leads join the browsing. Opening hours for the gardens and grounds are 10:00 to 16:00 daily, with slightly longer hours at Grindhus. Estate parking is available near the tearooms, with tariffs applying and main village parking offers another option.
Castle tours run Tuesday to Saturday, with Sunday tours on market days. It's a solid Harrogate-area day out when you want historic setting, gardens and dog-friendly refreshments rather than a town-centre stop.
Good to know:

Dog Policy:
Dogs on leads are welcome in the gardens, grounds and estate outlets including the courtyard on market days. They're excluded from the castle interior, deer park and showfield.
