Rothay Park

Rothay Park is a gentle green pause right in Ambleside, ideal for a calm loop before you commit to cafés and shops. It’s riverside, easy-going, and great for letting dogs decompress after busy streets, especially when your pup has been trying to greet every tourist like a long-lost friend.
Dogs are welcome outdoors, but the children’s playground area is a no-dog zone, so steer your pup around that bit and everyone stays cheerful. It’s a handy little reset that still feels properly Lake District.
