That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

A proper post-walk, post-train, “we’ve earned this” kind of stop, tucked right beside the heritage railway at Rowsley South. This is the sort of place where muddy paws meet hot tea, and nobody bats an eyelid.

Expect classic tearoom comforts done well — hearty breakfasts, sandwiches, cakes and scones — all made fresh with locally sourced ingredients and served with that easy, unhurried countryside pace. Peak Rail trains rumble in and out just steps away, which adds a bit of charm (and a lot of sniffing interest for the dog).

Open Wednesday to Sunday regardless of whether trains are running, so you can plan it as a reliable stop rather than a maybe. It works beautifully as a reset point — whether you’re breaking up a Peak District walk or building a full day out around the railway.

Good to know:

Water bowls available

Treats available

Doggy Menu available

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside the tearoom. Water bowls are available and dogs are made to feel part of the stop.
