That’s our way of flagging the places that go further — beyond “dogs allowed”, with a genuinely warm welcome for dogs inside.

RSPCA Westmorland is a charity shop in Kendal with a big-hearted mission and the kind of treasure-hunt rails that make you say "how is this only £3?" out loud. Dogs are welcome inside, so nobody needs to do the pavement-waiting shuffle while you browse. Expect an ever-changing mix of clothing, books, DVDs, home bits and bobs, and those handy pet essentials that mysteriously multiply once you start browsing.

It's ideal for bargain lovers, gift hunters, and anyone who enjoys the thrill of finding a perfectly good item while also doing something genuinely useful for animals in the community. Drop in with donations if you can, leave with a bag you didn't plan on, and feel quietly smug about it all.

Your dog will be delighted by the extra fuss, and you'll be delighted by the fact your impulse buy is actually helping. Warning: once you start "just popping in," you'll do it weekly.

Dog Policy:

Dogs are welcome inside, so keep them on a lead and under control. No surprise redecoration projects, but plenty of fuss from staff who understand the appeal of a hopeful nose.
